Country Weddings Part 2 ~~ Maldon, Vic, Australia

In part 1 of our country wedding special, we suggested a great way to host a country wedding would be to 'borrow' a friend or relative's rural property for the day. However, of course, not everybody knows someone who owns or has access to a farm. So, if you have your heart set on a country wedding, what to do, where to go? Last week I wrote that the main attraction for couples who want a country wedding is the homespun, natural feel that country weddings provide. The rustic charm of being surrounded by leafy country lanes, wandering farm animals, rusty old sheds, hay bales and cosy farmhouses with lots of character often carries with it the most unique ingredient of all: history. That particular element isn't something you can easily find in city venues.    The historic town of Maldon, Victoria, Australia, is both an ideal, and idyllic location for a country wedding. We're up and running again!

All is back to normal again at www.the-elegant-wedding.com after our recent technical issues! Because of this, please look out for our new blog update next week, Monday 18th March. Thank you for understanding and your support. :)

Urgent Message about our Web Site

Apologies, but all of our websites are down for the count at the moment. This affects www.graphicallusions.com and www.the-elegant-wedding.com. Not only is there a seriously bad bug at the server side end at Zazzle (We use their Zazzle Store Builder feed for both websites) but of all times, our hosting ISP has decided to take today to migrate our websites to another server! So, apologies again, but this is something sadly out of our control. Fingers crossed everything is back up and running asap!! In the meantime thank you all for your support! Needless to say, there will be no blog update this week for the Elegant Wedding. :-( However, please return next week for our country wedding special, Part 2: Maldon, Victoria.

Country Weddings ~ Part 1

Country weddings are a great idea not only for country dwellers, but for all those who love the down to earth, natural, organic feel of the countryside. All bride and grooms are different of course, so one couple's idea of a country wedding will be vastly different to another couple's. Some people will think, 'ah, country', and immediately envision vintage, homespun wedding favors, a farm setting with rusty old tractors in the fields and old farm equipment hanging on barn walls and horses and cows roaming around freely in the paddocks in the distance. They'll think of outdoor trestle tables with vases of fresh flowers and gingham tablecloths, hurricane lanterns hanging from surrounding trees, dogs running around everywhere and so on. Other couples may envision grand old country manors with magnificent gardens, fairytale horse and carriages, spectacular marquees with metres upon metres of tulle hanging from every corner, quaint English-cottage style garden furniture
